Jacalyn Beam

Gallery
Jacalyn Beam is primarily a plein air, alla prima painter. She can
often be seen painting the mid-Atlantic landscape. Plein air is a
French term meaning ‘in the open air’ and describes paintings
executed outdoors. Alla prima (Italian) means the painting is
completed in one session or while the paint is still wet.
“I paint
outdoors because the world is rich with beauty and it’s the optimum
way to see three dimensional objects, the subtleties of light and
shadows, atmospheric perspective, and ‘real’ colors". -
