Steven White at the Chadds Ford
Gallery
Steven J. White, PWS, PWCS, has been associated with the Chadds Ford Gallery for many years. He is a self taught artist who paints primarily traditional landscape in oil or transparent watercolor, emotionally drawn to render scenes and events where he has lived. Paintings of Pennsylvania farms and woodlands, the Adirondack Mountains and Schuylkill River Heritage areas have awarded him with regional and national recognition. His work has been chosen for inclusion in several artist magazines and events including “Qualities of Light” by North Light Books, a finalist in the Artist’s Magazine annual competition, a Silver Medal at The Adirondack’s National Exhibition of American Watercolors. Steven is a signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, and member of the Oil Painters of America. Steven J. White, always drawing, always looking, a restless adventurer.
Steven says, “I believe that before an artist can paint he needs to learn how to see! An artist’s gift is his ability to see something special in an otherwise ordinary scene and the burning desire to put it on paper. The beautiful spontaneous fresh look of my paintings are actually the result of a tremendous amount of mental preplanning. The thought process is the most critical part of my painting style.”
